The not-to-be-missed event in the Upper Alps
Spring is on its way, but the peaks are still covered in snow!
The Trail des Contreforts du Piolit, in La Bâtie-Neuve, is the department's first "non-snow" trail event of the season, and not to be missed.
Located just a few minutes from Gap, locals make a note of the April date every year to get the season off to a great start, in a friendly, family atmosphere far removed from the big competitions.
Starting in a more urban environment, in the heart of the village of La Bâtie-Neuve, the course then climbs the trails through the magnificent Sapet forest before reaching the heights below the Piolit summit, still well covered in snow at this time of year. It then offers fine views over the Avance valley and the Champsaur peaks.
A must for local and visiting sports enthusiasts alike!
