Une vue incroyable sur le lac de Serre Ponçon depuis le village de Rousset dans les Hautes Alpes

From the Serre Ponçon lake to the Durance river

Rendezvous at the tip of Lac de Serre-Ponçon

It's here, in the Serre-Ponçon valleys, that the blue jewel of the Hautes-Alpes closes in. Like a majestic finale, the Serre-Ponçon dam, 123 metres high and 650 metres wide at its base, holds back the waters of the Durance. It stands alone as a feat of engineering, the fruit of the labor of the men who have shaped this landscape.

Today, the lake has found its rightful place at the heart of the valley. It forms a natural setting, dotted with wild pine-lined coves, ideal for a refreshing break in summer. Among them, the Bois Vieux cove in Rousset Serre Ponçon offers a peaceful, unspoilt setting, perfect for a swim away from the hustle and bustle.

But the adventure doesn't end there. Beyond the dam, the Durance comes back to life. Sometimes channelled to irrigate crops, sometimes free and wild, it flows through our valleys with character. It's an ideal playground for a kayak trip, a stroll along the river, or simply a peaceful fishing trip in the heart of nature
