Microadventure Kayak on the wild Durance river
The call of white water
And we paddle and we paddle... Just 20 minutes from Gap, do you know of this breathtaking itinerary on the wild Durance, which resumes its course after the Serre Ponçon dam? A must-do itinerary, whether accompanied or on your own, in the heart of the unspoilt Cassette forest. A complete change of scenery for the whole family!
River kayaking in the Hautes Alpes
Once on the water, the Durance reveals its wild character. After wide gravel pits and the first rapids, the river gradually enters a dense forest, the Forêt des Cassettes, a Natura 2000 site. This is where the adventure takes on a whole new dimension: the water speeds up, the trees bend over the river, and the light filters through the foliage. You'd think you were in the heart of an alpine jungle, far away from it all, lost in lush, unspoilt nature. The succession of rapids along the way provides a few thrills and reveals the laughter of budding kayakers. Keep an eye out for beavers along the banks!
