The Grand Trail de Serre-Ponçon is back for another year in 2026: new organisation, new concept, new routes
The Grand Trail de Serre-Ponçon is more firmly rooted in the region than ever before. Supported by the town of Embrun and the Communauté de Communes de Serre-Ponçon, the event brings together local players and driving forces to make it a key event in the life of the region.
A new dynamic: after four editions, the organisation is handing over to WeAreHautesAlpes, the team already renowned for the Outdoormix Festival and the Outdoormix Winter Festival. With their experience, sport, conviviality and festivities will combine to enrich the adventure. A rethink of communications, a continuously animated village, an enhanced spectator experience: everything has been thought out to give the event a new lease of life.
An expanded programme for all audiences:
Four race formats (15, 30, 60 and 100 km), drawn in a loop around Embrun in order to return via the festive trail village.
A children's trail, to introduce the youngest runners to the race.
More accessible conditions: extended time limits and easier monitoring for accompanying adults.
A real place to live on the water's edge:
The village is transformed into a meeting and entertainment area: outdoor fair, sports and wellbeing initiations, food trucks, concerts, bands, DJ sets... A lively setting for trailers, families and visitors.
Much more than a competition, the Grand Trail becomes a popular trail festival, set against the backdrop of Embrun's lake. An emblematic site where sporting performance and shared moments come together.
