Presentation
Listed as part of the European Natura 2000 network "Piolit-Pic de Chabrières", the north-western side of the Sapet national forest offers walkers idyllic and varied landscapes, and a mystery walk starting from the Maison forestière!
This state-owned forest covers the communes of Ancelle and la Bâtie Neuve and includes a 12-hectare forest in the commune of la Rochette. The whole area is located in the foothills of the Piolit mountain, between the combe of the St Pancrace torrent (or the Sapet, also known as the Biarras) and the Dévezet torrent.
There are several starting points for hiking routes that are accessible to all and will plunge you into an atmosphere where nature reclaims its rights and gives way to beauty and serenity.
