Fancy a canoeing trip on the wild Durance? From Rousset to Tallard, four departure areas and several sections with varying sensations are to be discovered, according to your level.
Many small rapids, narrow passages and immersed in the "Cassette forest" in a rich and sensitive natural area classified NATURA 2000. A perfect change of scenery in the middle of nature!
1. Departure "Espinasses" > "Pont de Rochebrune" - 3km class II
Sporting departure on the right bank 1500 m from the dam of the Serre-Ponçon dam compensation lake.
Wide and open course, alternating gravel pits and faster areas.
You will be directly in the atmosphere of the Durance where, in normal times, only 4.2 cubic metres of the Serre-Ponçon reserved flow flows.
Arrive under the Rochebrune bridge on the right bank.
2. Departure "Pont de Rochebrune" > "Les Trois Lacs" - 3 km of class II
Departure on the right bank under the bridge.
Beware, about 1200 metres from the Rochebrune bridge, an irrigation water intake structure requires a rapid passage to be manoeuvred on the left bank.
Arrive on the left bank at the level of the 3rd lake of the 3 Lakes site.
3. Departure "Les Trois Lacs" > "Pont de l'Archidiacre" - 4 km of class II

Alternating gravel pits and narrow, shaded areas. With the crossing of the "Cassettes", an area classified for its flora and fauna, this route, which winds its way through vegetation, will give you a complete change of scene.
Arrival on the left bank upstream of the Archidiacre bridge.
4. Departure "Pont de l'Archidiacre" > "Pont de Tallard" - 6 km of class II
Departure on the left bank upstream of the bridge of L'Archidiacre.
The longest and most technical of the courses, with small rapids and numerous rocks that will enhance your trajectories.
At the finish of this course, the Tallard slalom stadium has been laid out over 150 metres upstream of the bridge. It has 20 permanently mounted gates and is used for initiation and training of young people and beginners in canoeing.Arrival on the right bank downstream from the bridge.
(To prolong the pleasure, the descent can continue beyond the Tallard Bridge. The finish of this route is not equipped or signposted, the stop must be made before the Saulce lake on the left bank in the commune of Curbans. This course is reserved only for those who are supervised by a professional or licensed by a national canoeing federation and who have a sufficient technical level (Prefectoral decree n°2017-334-007).
Caution DANGER on the Saulce water level at the arrival of the EDF canal which can produce a strong current and a significant wave. Navigation is strictly forbidden 150 m upstream from the dam).
