Major collection of sailing equipment

Sort your old water sports equipment and take it to the recycling centre! Old flippers? A mask that lets in water? A canoe that no longer floats? You have until 19 October 2026 to drop off your old water sports equipment and items at the Avançon recycling centre!

As the summer season draws to a close, the Serre-Ponçon Val d’Avance Community of Communes is organising a one-off collection of used water sports and leisure equipment to encourage its reuse and recycling. Let’s collect as much as possible to help consolidate and expand this scheme, which is managed and organised by the eco-organisation Ecologic (approved by the State for the prevention, collection and recycling of sports and leisure items).

The campaign is open to everyone, including members of the public and businesses.

What equipment can be handed in?
The collection covers a wide range of sports and leisure equipment, including:

> windsurf boards and masts;

> kites and kiteboards;

> paddles and oars;

> water skis and wakeboards;
> helmets;

> kayaks and paddleboards;

> life jackets;

> diving suits;

> masks and snorkels;

and many other sports and leisure items (excluding clothing and trainers).

Where can you drop off your equipment?

In the dedicated skip at the Avance recycling centre, situated in the Plaine d’Avançon, during opening hours / Avance recycling centre:
> MONDAY, TUESDAY, THURSDAY, FRIDAY from 9.00 am to 12.00 pm / 1.30 pm to 5.30 pm

> SATURDAY from 9.00 am to 12.00 pm and 1.30 pm to 5.30 pm
