Presentation
Valserres is at the foot of the Saint-Maurice mountain. Located 15 km south-east of Gap, only 200 inhabitants live in this small green setting. The traditional culture of the vine is undergoing a real revival!
Producing high quality red, rosé and white wines, Valserres is the village of relaxation and serenity. The important wine cooperative of Valserres ensures the transformation of many farms and the sale of most of the wines.
The commune of Valserres is endowed with many hiking trails: Saint-Maurice, the Merdarel, the Ubac, the vineyard trail, the botanical trail which are regularly visited.
At the top of the Saint-Maurice mountain (altitude 1410 m), the highest point of the commune, stands a modest chapel on the spot where Saint-Maurice is said to have appeared to Benoîte Rencurel predicting a forthcoming apparition of the Virgin Mary in the 17th century.
