The Saint Collomban

Presentation

A family loop between torrents, woods, fields and landscapes overlooking the Durance valley.

Start and finish: Neyrac, along the D56
Recommended parking: along the departmental road, near the electricity transformer

1. Take the tarmac path that leads to the houses in Neyrac. At the crow's feet, take the path on the right and cross the torrent of Neyrac. Go up into the marl pits, under the cover of the wood, overlooking the Durance valley. The path then leads to a cultivated field. A bench, an orientation table and a cross await the walker at the top, allowing him to enjoy the 360 degree panoramic view of Céüse, the Pic de Bure, the Vieux Chaillol, the Piolit and the Grand Morgon. After a well-deserved break, continue on the path, descending towards the village of Piégut. Go around the water tanks to reach the village square. Take the departmental road towards Venterol for about 200m
3. Turn left towards Neyrac on a wide track. 500 metres further on is a water catchment, take the path on the left and continue through the forest, discovering the Neyrac torrent watershed and its many tributaries. After a few hairpin bends, go down quietly to find the hamlet of Neyrac, the starting point of the hike.
