Presentation
This Natura 2000 site is located entirely in the commune of Bréziers. It covers an area of 1,404 ha and includes the mountains of La Scie and Seymuit, the Bois des Devins and the north-western slopes of the Bois de Gaudissart.
The communal forest of Bréziers occupies a large part of the site's surface area.
The eastern slopes of the Crête de la Scie and the Montagne de Seymuit supply the torrent of La Blanche.
The Montagne de la Scie, culminating at 1374m, occupies the northern sector of the site. Further south, the mountain of Seymuit rises to 1578m and is extended by the Bernie Ridge. Their slopes are mainly wooded, with alternating stands of deciduous and coniferous trees. The steepest slopes are cut by scree slopes, where scrubland or moorland vegetation develops.
On its eastern slope, the crest of the Montagne de Seymuit is marked by the presence of two small cliffs, extended by scree slopes.Oriented north-east/south-west, the Garcinets valley constitutes the southernmost sector of the site. It contains agricultural areas spread around the hamlet of Garcinets.
